Bangalore Palace is situated in the Palace Gardens
at the heart of the Bangalore city in India.
It was built by the Wodeyar dynasty in 1887. The magnificent wood
carvings and Tudor style architecture of the palace attract visitors from all
over the world. It looks like the Windsor Castle of London.
The palace is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The
Fortified towers, Gothic windows and battlements of the palace are added beauty
to the palace. The palace is mainly constructed of wood. The splendid carvings
and paintings look fantastic in sight. The ground floor of the palace has a
massive open square full of granite seats that are adorned with fluorescent
blue ceramic tiles.
The courtyard has a ball room where the private parties
of the king where held. The first floor has a Durbar Hall where the king used
to address the assembly. There is more use of yellow color in the hall with the
wall and sofa being of the same color.
There are number of paintings of Raja Ravi Varma in
the palace. The inner wall of the palace has paintings belonging to the mid 19th
century. The other attraction of the palace includes a dining table of the
Diwan of Mysore, Sir Mirza Ismail.
