Petronas Towers

The name of this fabulous tower is projected on April 15th 1996 by the council on Tall Buildings and identified as the tallest building in the world. Although the project's developers, a syndicate of private investors in union with the Malaysian government and Petronas, the national oil corporation, had not initially set out to surpass Chicago's Sears Tower and they did desire to build the extra ordinary monument announcing Kuala Lumpur's prominence as a profitable and cultural capital. 

In the blueprint of American designer Cesar Pelli they found a winning scheme and the twin towers of pleasing to the eye proportions with a slenderness ratio (height to width) of 9.4 that would detain not only the title but the public imagination.
