The amazing Tiger Hills in Darjeeling

The Tiger Hill is famous for the spectacular sunrise view over the Himalayas. It is situated 11 km from the town of Darjeeling. It can be reached by foot or jeep. The distance in straight line from Tiger Hill to Mount Everest is 107 miles. While at Tiger Hill you can also visit Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary which offers great picnic spot.

The view of Kanchenjunga, the eastern Himalayas and even Mount Everest early in the morning is fantastic.  There are crowds to view the sun rise at the Tiger Hill look-out point. One must get up at 4 am to be able to watch the sunrise. As the sun rises, the color of the mountain changes which is an amazing sight to view.

A trip to the Tiger Hill at Darjeeling adds more value on a very clear and sunny day. The beautiful Teesta River and Mechi River are also visible from the Tiger Hills. The place is very cold and is recommended to wear warm clothes.

Don’t miss visiting this place when you are in Darjeeling.
